Our partial day rides offer amazing views of the surrounding mountain ranges, with options ranging from gentle one-hour loops to elevated ridge rides to half day adventures with several hours in the saddle. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced rider, enjoy breathtaking views, well-trained horses, and friendly guides who make every ride memorable.
1 Hour Loop Ride
Enjoy an hour of horseback riding through mountain meadows, lodgepole pine forests, and along morainal ridges. This loop provides amazing views of the area and is a great introduction for beginner riders.
Little Redfish Ridge Ride (1.5 Hours)
The most popular and scenic loop featuring wooded terrain, views of Big and Little Redfish Lakes, wildlife viewing opportunities, and a 200 ft elevation gain. Suitable for all experience levels.
Marshall Ridge Ride (2 Hours)
A scenic climb onto Marshall Ridge with close-up views of the Sawtooths and Fishhook Creek Drainage. Descends through aspen groves and above Little Redfish Lake. Slightly more technical terrain.
Bench Lakes Half Day Ride
Climb the north morainal ridge into the Sawtooth Wilderness toward the Bench Lakes, with views of fire-regenerated landscapes from the 2024 Bench Lakes Fire. Saddle time is about 4 hours because there is a short break at the largest lake.

Spend the day exploring alpine lakes, mountain meadows, scenic ridges, and pristine forest trails—each ride offering its own incredible views and unique challenges. These full-day adventures are perfect for riders ready to immerse themselves in the heart of Idaho’s wild landscape.
Marshall Lake Day Ride
A full-day experience with views of Redfish Lake, meadows, and the Sawtooths. Time at the lake for lunch, exploring, or hiking to Upper Marshall Lake. Great for beginners and intermediate riders.
Sawtooth Lake Day Ride
A challenging ride to one of the most iconic alpine lakes in the Sawtooths. Includes steep switchbacks near the end, delivering riders to the dramatic hanging valley of Sawtooth Lake.
Hell Roaring Lake Day Ride
One of the easiest day rides, following wooded trails and Hell Roaring Creek to a serene, pristine lake beneath the Sawtooths. This ride is a gradual elevation as the lake is still quite a bit higher than where you start at the trailhead.
Alice Lake Day Ride
The most spectacular yet challenging day ride. Features high alpine scenery, mountain meadows, creek crossings, and dramatic views throughout.
Bench Lakes Day Ride
The ride provides great views of Heyburn Peak, Grand Mogul, the White Cloud Mountains, and the upper end of the Sawtooth Valley. The trail will take you to the first two of the five Bench Lakes. Season is mid-June through September.
