What Our Guests Say

Don't take our word for it, let our guests tell you.

My husband and I took a vacation to the Dark Sky Reserve and stayed in Lower Stanley, ID. We did the 1.5 hour ride at the Redfish Lake Corrals. Cora was our guide. She was sweet and knowledgeable. The views were gorgeous. Make sure you wear a hat if you go on the summer. The sun is very bright on most of the trail.

My hour and a half trail ride was the highlight of our 3 day stay in Stanley! The entire staff was extremely helpful, knowledgable, professional and personable. They went out of their way to accommodate me, even though I arrived without a reservation. My guides, Kade and Chaz, were the best! They explained everything very well and made me feel very comfortable and confident on my horse. We saw amazing views and wildlife, too. I would recommend this company/experience to anyone and everyone!!!

My husband and I took our 8 year old daughter on a day ride to the first 2 (of 5) Bench Lakes. I rode a handsome red horse named Steve, my husband was on a draft horse named Malida, and my daughter rode a stunning Apaloosa named Doc Holiday. Our trail guide was named Al, Ally, or "Alligator" for fun - and she was just that - FUN! We felt safe and well taken care of. We saw views your eyes can't fully understand. Our horses were well selected and suited for each of us - and especially for our daughter. We were also treated to a packed lunch which was delicious and hardy. We can't say enough great things about this company and their beautiful animals. They made it clear that our enjoyment and safety was their #1 priority. And it was also clear that they absolutely love what they do ... which was infectious. A solid 5 stars - highly recommended!

Excellent staff, horses, scenery, trails! Our family aged from 6-68 and we all had a blast. Guide was knowledgeable and careful with the six year old taking his first ride. The scenery went from beautiful to spectacular as we rode the 1.5 hour trail. Very safe and an experience we will all never forget. Highly recommend this place.

We went on the 1 hour horseback ride as we were inexperienced riders. Almost immediately we felt very relaxed in the extremely capable hands of our guide Kade. The horses were very well behaved and Kade gave us great instruction, advice and information on the beautiful ride. We saw Pronghorn, deer and beautiful scenery. Thank you Kade for a wonderful experience.

Booked an 1.5 horseback ride for our family. It was an amazing experience, start to finish. Our guide was wonderful. The views were amazing. I would recommend a morning ride if you are going in the summer. The temperatures are perfect. We will definitely do this again.

We took the 1.5 hour trip and it was outstanding! Our guide was so good with us (10, 14, and late 40s), none of whom had ever ridden a horse before, but was especially good with my 10 year old, which I greatly appreciated. The views are gorgeous and the pace allows you to take them in. The pace also allows one to get very comfortable with the horse very fast. Of special note, at the end of the ride, after we had dismounted, my daughter started feeling ill from dehydration. (It was a particularly hot day and she hadn't been drinking her water.) Our guide and other staff jumped right in to help her and stayed with us until she was feeling well enough to move. Given that the ride was over and they were done for the day, they could've easily left us fending for ourselves, but they were all so nice. I cannot adequately express how grateful I was and how much that meant to me. So, if you're on the fence, just go ahead and book it. It was well worth it and both my kids said they would do it again in a heartbeat.

In July of this year myself and three friends took the 5-day trip to Edna Lake in the Sawtooths. The location itself is stunning. Pictures on the internet do not do justice to the location at all. In all of the traveling I have done in the contiguous United States this location is easily up there in regards to beauty. The ruggedness and separation from normal city life is incredible. There are no planes flying overhead, no road noise, no cell phones and tech to take away from the experience. There are crystal clear lakes, high mountain peaks, deer coming within 10 feet of camp, amazing fishing, beautiful views of the Milky Way and the night sky, and the list goes on. The guides from Mystic Saddle are fantastic. Mat and Cotton are two of the funniest guys I have ever met. They prepare some darn good backwoods food, have coffee ready at even the earliest times in the morning, and are a wealth of information on good hikes, fishing spots, etc.

We took with our 8 year old son for his first time on a horse. The entire experience was wonderful. The guides are knowledgeable and friendly, the views were absolutely beautiful and the horses were very gentle. We all had a great time, and my son is now convinced he wants to be a guide when he’s old enough. I look forward to going back again!

We did a 90 minute ride guided by Jeremy. He was excellent as was everyone else helping us get started. My 8 and 10 year old sons loved every minute of it as much as the 3 adults ( including 69 year old grandpa). The horses were so well trained, and Jeremy had the kids so comfortable for their first ride without a lead. The views were spectacular of the sawtooth mountains and the two lakes. Wish we had time for the half day ride too!!

Four women took a 4 day pack trip with Rebekah (who owns the company with her husband Mathew) and her sister, Anne as our guides. It was a fantastic experience. The horses did a tremendous job navigating very difficult terrain, taking us from one magnificent vista to another. Rebekah and Anne took care of everything, making delicious meals, making sure we were comfortable and tending to all of our needs as well as the horses. Going into the Wilderness area which is only accessible by foot or horseback is an amazing experience.

Maybe the most beautiful ride we’ve ever had. Between the Sawtooth mountains and Redfish lake, the views were breathtaking. Throw in the mountain flowers, a young deer and our great guide, Campbell we had an epic ride.

The horses were great (and adorable) and everything was clear. They also took us in the same day - so awesome. Make sure to leave a tip!!!

My trail 2-hour Marshall Ridge ride with Aubree was fabulous! It began with Cambelle answering the phone, explaining options and making my reservation. At the corral I found friendly staff greetings, patient horses, and efficient preparation. Our guide Aubree, took the time to explain and demonstrate proper mounting, steering and basics of trail riding. Each guide prepared guests for their ride, outlining the responsibilities of the guide, the horse and the rider. There were helpful people there to assist each rider mount, adjust stirrups and put items in saddle bags. Water and long sleeves were a good idea. Once on the trail, Aubree explained interesting facts about the landscape, pointed out wildlife, shared a bit about her background, and why she enjoys being a trail guide for Mystic Saddle Ranch. The scenery in this part of Central Idaho is breathtaking. The horses were steady and surefooted as they navigated the rugged terrain. I could not have asked for a better trail partner than Alpine. She knew every inch of the trail and carefully placed her feet with each step. As a horse owner, I appreciate that Mystic Saddle Ranch genuinely cares for the wellbeing of their horses. The horses each had a specific saddle, thick saddle pads to protect their backs, were sprayed with fly repellant before rides, well matched with riders, and given sufficient time to drink water after each ride. I had the opportunity to meet co-owner Mathew Cain (between shoeing horses) and he was pleasant to talk with, appreciative of well-deserved compliments. Thank you to everyone at Mystic Saddle Ranch for a fabulous experience!!!

This was such a lovely ride. We did the hour and a half ride, and I think that was a perfect amount of time for our group. The horses were obviously well-trained and calm. Our guide, Eva, was a gem. She paused often to make sure everyone was safe and comfortable. She also doled out interesting tidbits about the landscape and area. Our group of three ranged in age from 12-74, and we all had a great time. The ladies working today were all friendly and helpful. Due to a massive unforeseen traffic delay, we were not going to make our check-in time, so they switched us to a later ride, easy as you please. I highly recommend this company. The staff is professional and kind. The scenery alone is worth the ride! The fantastic guide was a bonus.
